Showdown enhances plant growth and yield while reducing severity of many diseases. Showdown is antagonistic to foliar or rhizosphere bacteria and fungi through the production of siderophores and antibiotics. They help in uptake of nutrient and also produce plant growth promoting substances. Iron chealating siderphore antibiotic, hydrogen cyanide and lytic enzymes (Cellulose, Chitnase and protease) produce by Pseudomonas are directly involved in the reduction of plant pathogen and induce plant resistance.
